(More customer reviews)I don't believe that swallowing a pill, whether it's homeopathic, natural, or, whatever, is a good strategy for stress relief. But I like this product as a gentle sleep aid.
When I was given some samples of these De-Stress an MD's office where the rep told me they were made from milk extracts and worked on the same principle as the warm glass of milk grandma used to offer before bedtime -- I tucked them away. Occasionally I use Melatonin before I go to bed, especially if I've had a busy day and don't have time for a proper bedtime slow-down and shift of activities at the end of the day. But melatonin knocks me out for 9-10 hours making it hard for me to get up early. I like these better.
I'm peri-menopausal and frequently have hot-flushes and night sweats accompanied by the aggravating insomnia that seems to be common after them. There's no way I can take a melatonin at 3am - I'd sleep til noon. But the De-Stress taken at 3am helps me drift back off to sleep shortly and still be ready for the alarm at 7am. They are pricey, but handy to use from time to time.
As for dealing with stress - a better approach is something like the tools in the book, The Inner Game of Stress. Taking a pill for stress is wrong headed - treating the symptoms and not getting at the problem is a bad idea where stress is concerned, because stress can make us really really sick.
