As a balm, this is very nice on the lips; silky feel, and moisturizes and protects well. I was very disappointed by the scent, however, as I had excepted it to smell like, well, cake! It smells pretty generic. I didn't get any "cake" from this; only a faint vanilla note, largely overwhelmed by the typical lip balm smells of aloe and petroleum. I went back to my tried-and-true Blue Q "Birthday Cake" lip balm before I even got through this jar.
