I usually like strawberry Pocky the best, and I was a little skeptical about the milk flavor. It didn't sound too appetizing. But I decided to try it anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised.
It doesn't taste much like milk, more like vanilla. The coating has a nice, creamy texture, and it compliments the crunchy bisquit well.
The packaging is also great. This is marketed toward kids, apparently, and it features a cute cow mascot. There are also riddles the back with answers on the bottom inside flaps. The riddles are in Japanese, which is a draw-back for non-Japanese speakers, but they're good practice for Japanese students. The inside wrapper also have simple games on them, some of which non-Japanese speakers can follow.
Needless to say, it isn't very nutritious. The box claims that it has added calcium (again, in Japanese), but there's still hardly enough to make a difference. Still, it has no saturated or trans fat, which compares favorably to the strawberry and chocolate flavors. The sugar content is also low.
Milk Pocky is now my favorite Pocky flavor. It's a great snack for those who are interested in Japanese culture, or anyone looking for a tasty snack.
