(More customer reviews)I really wanted to exclusively breastfeed, unfortunately I had a breast reduction about five years ago and have PCOS. In her first month of life my daughter was not gaining quite as much weight each week as she was supposed to be, and I could tell she was not getting enough from my breasts. We used formula to supplement, but I hated it. Using a breast pump helped a little bit with my supply, but I credit this product with the quick, dramatic increase in milk that happened a few days after I began taking it. I went from being able to pump (post-feeding) barely enough to cover the bottom of a Medela bottle to getting half an ounce to a full ounce or even more. I normally scoff at the idea of herbal supplements doing much of anything, but I'm going to have to be more open-minded in the future because this one really helped me. At my physician's behest I tried domperidone as well, but it made me ravenously hungry and I was gaining weight, which was unacceptable to me. This supplement on the other hand has not affected my appetite. I am now easing off with the breast pump and am simply enjoying breastfeeding my daughter, and it is awesome.
It IS a little annoying to try to not drink for a while and then remember to take a dose prior to getting thirsty again, as I usually only think about taking a drink when I'm thirsty... but I'm one of those people who drinks water throughout the day, and I'm not a good pill taker in the first place. Regardless, this product is totally worth the hassle.
